Tide is fitting well into the “pack.” He is a new friend for Will to tug against.

Tide Talk
Posted on May 30th, 2009 No commentsGreetings our Tide made it home safe and sound on Tuesday May 27th. What a long day for us. The poor boy was exhausted by the time we made it to Philadelphia airport. How can a 9 lb. dog vomit the equivalent of a 100# German Shepherd. I felt so bad for him. I could not stop the car, I was running late for my plane and traffic was stop and go. I highly recommend Budget car rentals. When I returned the car they were more concerned about poor Tide than the vomit filled rental car. We bee lined it to the ladies room washing him, the carrier and me. He was the hit at airport security everyone wanted to pet him and talk to me about him. He took it all in stride. The bad news was my plane had a mechanical and we had a 3 hour delay, oh my:( FYI in the airport they have a “family restroom” which means there was lots of running room and paper towels for piddle pads.Once on board, the plane was delayed about another 30 min. We were now way back of the line for take off. Tide was a perfect passenger he played in his carrier and when the plan started taxing he went into a deep sleep until our landing in Tampa.Bob, Tess and Will were at the airport to pick us up and all were happy to see us. We finally made it back to our home at 1:30 am. I am pleased to say Miss Tess’s nose is not to out of joint. She does hide when he starts his screaming antics but they are getting shorter in duration now. Tide slept to 5 am the first morning and this morning he slept in until 6 am needless to say we were thrilled. He has fit in to the pack beautifully. Tide walks with the big dogs just like he did with his Mum and Dad now its Will and Tess. He plays a good game of tug with us and with our Will. He had his first game of restrained recalls and he is blistering fast. Whoo hoo!Yesterday, Tide went to the vets office with me for his first day of work. I have my own treatment room at the office so I set up a play pen for him. He had a great day. Dr McBride carried him, played with him on the floor and introduced him to all the staff and rooms of the clinic. He received a perfect bill of health and I have a vet who fell in love with my puppy. Once again it was taken all in stride. -
Raising Puppy #1
Posted on May 25th, 2009 1 commentI promised my very close friend JO, that I would keep up my dogblog and now I have no excuses. Wednesday morning I head to Quakertown PA to pick up our new boy. He will be 7.5 wks old and it as been 6 years since we have had a pup in the house. This past weekend I attended a 2 day puppy seminar given by Ann Braue. It was good. It brought many training skills I have not used to the fore front of my brain. The thought of training our boy is very exciting. I have the wobble board, travel plank, mat, ladder, table top, hoop, clicker, training treats and a variety of new tug toys all ready. Then again maybe I’ll just love on him for a few days and enjoy his puppy breath and play.

A new thingy from Val
Posted on February 15th, 2009 3 commentsI just want everyone to see this video (which I don’t seem to be able to attach) NUTS. However I seem to be able to create a link to it’s location on my website. Anyway, link to it and see an example of just how much drive my border collie “Tess” can demonstrate.

Go girl
If my Tess has one thing it is DRIVE! Once she gets going there is not much which can get her off program.
