I have just returned from another successful agility camp at Camp Weed in Live Oak Florida. Stuart and Jo worked from early morning until late in the day giving each camper their full attention The beginning of the week was pretty chilly, so cold the puppy pool iced over:). By end of the week we were back into the 70′s and everyone was happy. The new chef and staff were awesome and the meals excellent,  this made camp even more memorable.  Many of the participants at this camp were enthusiastic beardie owners offering oodles of entertainment day and night. Good fun and learning was had by all. Each day we had an early morning start, I met with interested handlers and their dogs for warm ups and canine massage. Kathy Leggett helped me out here and offered more stretches to be added to our repetoire. Observing dogs throughout the week this really seemed to make a difference in dogs running well all 4 days. I can’t thank Stuart and Jo enough for such a great week. They both gave outstanding evening lectures that were well attended. Also, thanks  to Kathy Leggett who gave an excellent presentation on the Art of Winning.

    Newsflash!

I just received an email from participant Sally Treat who went directly to a trial after camp and she says “If you get a chance, please let Stuart and Jo know that they are Miracle Workers — at today’s AKC trial, Jolly got his 3rd Open Std leg and 1st ExA JWW leg, and Toby double Q’d — all with placements! Thanks again for a wonderful camp.” Congratulations Sally!
I can’t wait to hear from Sheila and Ruth who are in South Carolina at a USDAA trial. We wish them good luck and safe travel.

    1. A wonderful camp, many thanks to all the campers for bringing such a positive attitude to the week. Many thanks to Stuart for being such a fun and informative person to teach with and last but by no means least, many thanks to Val for all her time and effort and expertise in making the camp a wonderful place to teach.

      Regards,

      Jo

    2. Hi Val
We had a great time at camp last week. Thanks for putting it on, and thanks to Jo and Stuart as well for their insights, instructions and patience. I miss the warmth of the Florida sun, and not just because we’re covered in 8″ of snow and it was 17 degrees when I got up this morning. Camp Weed is a great place to spend a week doing agility. There were many eye opening moments for me last week, and I’ve come home with great ideas of things to work on with Diesel and my other dogs.
      Thanks again!
      Casey

    3. This was my first time at Camp Weed and it was all that I had been told it was. Poppet and I had a great time. Both Jo and Stuart were wonderful instructors! We tried out some of the new handling techniques at the USDAA trial in SC. Poppet came home with 3- 1st place Q’s and a 3rd place Q. Can’t wait till next year!!
